Who We Are
CIRA was formed in 1975 and is headquartered in McLean, Virginia. Membership is limited to those who either retired from the Central Intelligence Agency or have been or were employed by the Agency as employees or contractors for at least 10 years, whether or not currently retired.
Membership
CIRA is strictly a social organization that also supports a modest scholarship program for the children and grandchildren of current and retired Agency employees. It hosts events in the Washington, D.C. metro area, some of which provide an opportunity to hear from senior current and former intelligence and national security officials.
Our membership is kept informed through monthly publications which include information from our local chapters that are located throughout the U.S.
